Jah Youth

Jah Youth whose real name is Abdoulie Jadama was born in New Jeshwang in the mid 80's in a little town not far from the capital city Banjul. I am a high school graduate and looking forward pursuing further studies, He says. His musical career started off almost immediately after the completion of his high school studies in June 2005.

As a young child growing up around his brothers who have a keen interest for music he gradually got interested in music and becoming a musician.

After years of growing up with music he got more and more inspired to pursue a career as a singer. One of his brothers by the name Lamin a.k.a Ras jadama who runs a sound system called River Nile sound system in Milano, Italy came for a visit to the Gambia. Noticing the interest Jah Youth has for the music, he started encouraging him to do music. He trained Jah Youth to start Dj:ing to promote his sound in the Gambia. This gave Jah Youth the opportunity to record his first song called 'Love We Need' which Lamin took along to Italy to promote.

From there, Jah Youth started running shows and meeting selectaz to present them his promotional tunes. He has recorded a number of dubplates and promotional songs for a few djs that are being promoted in Europe.
