When it comes to rap- mbalax in the Gambia , K-Man G is obviously the reigning kings in The Gambia. The trio group disclosed to onegambia that they are poised to lift the standard of Gambian music.

Following the release of their debut album Niarr , the group's name has spread like wild fire in the urban area. Most of their songs are highly appreciated by the women folk, especially the song Jongoma which has a very colourful video.

According to Panchang , one of the vocalists the group is currently very busy thoroughly studying the music industry in both Senegal and The Gambia. He disclosed that they were recently in Senegal to introduce their music and see how they can penetrate the Senegalese market.

Panchang complained over the lack of regard Gambians have towards their own musicians. “Just imagine the radios playing Gambian music once every week. This is disgusting and still nothing is being done to address this situation” He said.

The lead vocalist of the group Duffy, who happens to be a Senegalese, said their group is unique because they are the first group who successfully managed to fuse rap with the traditional mbalax of Senegambia . This, according to him should be seen as a big development in Gambian music.

Talking about the delay in the production of their second album, Duffy told onegambia that they are working hard on it.

“We are not rushing it, because we want quality. This time around we want to hit the world market, so we have to produce something that is standard. “Duffy added
