Griot Basiru Suso is a professional musician. Born in the Gambia and grew up in Mali where he studied music at the National Arts Institute in Bamako, Mali. Basiru now lives in Denmark where he has been living since 1997.

Basiru plays the kora as well just like many 'suso' generations have been who have been among the greatest kora players of West Africa

He has played alongside popular musicians in Denmark including Jorge Degas, Palle Mikkelborg, Mousa Diallo, Mikkel Nordsjo, Jakob Andersen and Klaus Menzer. Basiru has performed at festivals in Denmark, Indonesia, Pakistan and several European countries.
